We have finally seen our first significant snow fall of the season!  Some people are excited about it, others not so much. Whatever side of the fence you fall on, remember that your vinyl fence system does become a little less flexible in the frigid air.

The biggest complaint about vinyl over the years has been its inability to withstand cold climates.  Our vinyl systems are made with carefully selected ingredients designed to increase durability and long-term performance.  They are made with a high percentage of titanium dioxide.  Often you find “big box” companies selling similar products with a cheaper price tag.  But the old saying “you get what you pay for” rings true here.  Often their products have less titanium dioxide and without it vinyl fence can become cracked or brittle due to weather.

Our product is high quality and is made to withstand the temperature changes. The product is tested to the highest of standards performance and meets all of the American Society for Testing and Materials International  (ASTM) qualifications!

ASTM is a globally recognized leader in the development and delivery of international voluntary consensus standards. Today, some 12,000 ASTM standards are used around the world to improve product quality, enhance safety, facilitate market access and trade, and build consumer confidence.

So while our product should never cause the frustration of a crack, we do offer a limited lifetime warranty against cracking, peeling, and fading.  However, we are confident properly installed and cared for you will not even have to worry about it!

This time the year everyone likes to take a look back at how the year has gone.  This was our 4th year in business, and just like any new establishing company we have learned and grown a lot this year!  We are so thankful to God for the opportunity to provide our customers with great customer service and a quality product line.  We are proud that we are not part of the chain stores that provide similar products.  Our products are higher quality and comes with lifetime warranties!

We have had a few hard lessons this year about small business ownership, however, we are now very aware of our rights and we intend on continue to learn and develop Summit Fence Supply to provide better service and quality for years to come!

2012 is around the corner and we are excited what the new year will bring.  We will be adding more product to our database, including the FACC Gate Operator.  FAAC is the top leader in automatic systems for gate openers and electric gates. FAAC’s mission is to produce the most durable, reliable, and the safest automatic systems for gates and doors in the world marketplace. We are happy to be adding this fine product to our line.

We are diligently searching for another aluminum fence manufacture to provide you the customers with more than enough choices to create your space unique and as special as you are.

We are developing and working with our tech guys to make the website more friendly user.  We want to be your one stop shop! We want to be able to provide you with everything you could possibly need for your project, packaged with excellent customer service!

Summit Fence Supply is a small business.  It is a company with less than 10 employees.  It is a company that each individual acts as more than one title.  We are personal.  We listen to your stories.  We listen to your needs and provide the best service to fit your needs.  I personally started out as a customer of this company.  I was impressed with the knowledge, helpfulness, and quality of the product.  About 4 months ago, I came on board to help relieve some of the computer work load.  In the last 4 months I have gained so much respect for small business owners.  It is a lot of work!

People who own and operate their own business take “pride” in their work; it is common for their quality and efficiency to be much higher. In many cases small businesses are known for providing their customers personalized and customized, high-quality products and services.  Here at Summit Fence Supply the same is true.  We strive to provide you with the best quality for your money.

We work hard.  The hours are often long.  But unlike a larger company we are paid by the job, not the amount of time put into that job.  Companies will try and take advantage of smaller unestablished businesses.  They often know how much harder we work, but frankly do not care.  They know that every job means a paycheck so we will bend over backwards to get the job done.  We will send product without pay, we will complete research, endless hours of research without compensation.  And we will do it because the larger company is a reputable company.  A well known company.  An established larger company.

Small businesses are often trustworthy people who think that others are just as trustworthy, especially larger businesses, after all they were once a small business!

As a small business owner we have to constantly be on our guard.  We have to go above and beyond to protect ourselves from getting conned out of the money owed to us.   With two pieces of documentation we can safeguard ourselves.  These two documents does not mean we will get our money faster or without trouble.  But it does mean we have a leg to fight on.  Every small business supplier needs to know about the Notice of Commencement and the  Notice of Furnishings.

The Notice of Commencement is exactly what you would think it is.  It is a legal document that announces work is about to begin on a home building or remodeling project.  It provides interested parties with the information needed to follow the construction lien procedures properly.

The Notice of Furnishing provides proof that a supplier, subcontractor, or laborer has provided labor or materials toward a construction project.

Small business owners need to make friends with some lawyers and play nice with larger businesses.  Do the proper paperwork and allow the lawyers to enforce the law!   Going at a larger company with just your overdue balance and stressed out bank account will not get you far.
